Our client recently approached Dymot Engineering Company with a unique request for a large conveyor take-up winch tailored to their specific operational needs, Dymot rose to the challenge with our technical expertise and commitment to quality.
Understanding the Client’s Requirements
Every project begins with a clear understanding of the client’s requirements. In this case, the client needed a robust conveyor take-up winch capable of handling substantial loads in a demanding industrial environment.
The specifications were precise, demanding a winch that could endure continuous operation under high tension conditions.
Collaborative Design
Dymot’s approach is rooted in collaboration. Our team of engineers worked closely with the client to translate the technical requirements into a detailed design concept. This involved not only meeting the functional specifications but also ensuring compatibility with safety standards and operational efficiency.
The design phase incorporated calculations to validate the performance metrics such as load capacity, torque requirements, and durability.
Winch Specifications
The system comprises of a 75kW, 14 Ton Winch and 90kW VFD that can handle a Maximum Momentary Load of 22 Tons. Gearboxes are all High Efficiency to reduce power consumption. The rope speed can reach 20.66m/min at 50Hz.
The Motor selected is a 75kW, IE3, IP66 with Class H Insulation to ensure long service life when running with a VFD and Forced Cooling for low speed operation once we approach the Tension point.
The winch was supplied with a complete Advanced 90kW Control System with VFD, PLC and HMI. The control panel enclosure complied to site specifications and incorporated fans and special IP rating for the environment.
Testing
Dymot has a one of a kind testing facility to vary the load and simulate the complete system under operation. We can also test the control system simulating the starting, running and stopping tensions. Our test facility can test up to 60 Tons.

Automatic Tension Control BTS VFD
The modern high speed, large capacity, long length conveyors have created a need for an alternative to gravity TAKE UP SYSTEMS for TENSIONING these high production machines.
DYMOT ENGINEERING has developed an electronic tension control system specifically for this purpose.
A VFD is incorporated into the system which offers multiple advantages as listed below.
